Twenty-one years in Seattle, 1997 to 2019 — the WTO riots, the dot-com years, watching the city rebuild itself around a bookstore that became something else entirely. Most of that time I was a bell captain at the Westin, and those stories live in their own collection. This is everything else: the radio stations, the backyards, the bicycle rides that turned into twenty-five-year stories. Some overlap with the hotel years is inevitable — it was the same city, the same life, running on two tracks at once.
